Outlook Add-in Guide

Turn your emails into actionable tasks in seconds with the WeekdayApp Outlook Add-in.

1Getting Started

Installation

The WeekdayApp Add-in is available for Outlook on the web, Windows, and Mac. Install it from the Microsoft AppSource marketplace.

  1. 1Open Outlook and go to the ribbon
  2. 2Click Get Add-ins (or Store)
  3. 3Search for "Weekday Task Creator"
  4. 4Click Add to install

Signing In

After installation, connect the add-in to your WeekdayApp account:

  1. 1Open any email in Outlook
  2. 2Click the Weekday button in the ribbon
  3. 3The add-in panel will open on the right
  4. 4Click Sign in with Weekday
  5. 5Log in with your credentials
  6. 6You're ready to create tasks!

Popup blocked?

Use the manual token method. Go to Settings → Integrations in WeekdayApp to generate a token, then paste it in the add-in.

2Creating Tasks

Quick Task Creation

Open the email you want to create a task from

Click the Weekday button

Set due date, client, and priority

Click Create Task

Task Fields

Title

Pre-filled from email subject. You can edit it.

Due Date

When the task should be completed.

Client

Associate the task with a client.

Priority

Low, Medium (default), or High.

Description

Optional notes or details about the task.

Include email details

Adds sender and date to description.

3Features

Email Context

When you check "Include email details," the following is added:

  • Email sender name and address
  • Date and time received
  • Note indicating task was created from Outlook

Offline Support

If you're offline when creating a task, the add-in will queue the task and automatically sync it when your connection is restored.

4Troubleshooting

Add-in Not Loading

  • Refresh your browser (for Outlook on the web)
  • Restart Outlook (for desktop clients)
  • Check your internet connection
  • Try removing and reinstalling the add-in

Sign-in Popup Blocked

  • Look for a popup blocker notification in your browser
  • Allow popups from weekday.app
  • Use the manual token method (click "Use token instead")

Connection Lost

  • Click Disconnect at the bottom of the add-in
  • Sign in again with your WeekdayApp account

Tasks Not Appearing

  • Refresh your WeekdayApp dashboard
  • Check that you're viewing the correct project or "All Tasks"
  • Look for the task in your inbox or unassigned tasks

5Privacy & Security

Your Data is Safe

We only read email content when you actively use the add-in
We don't have background access to your mailbox
Your authentication token is stored securely
You can revoke access at any time
